Oct 16th, 2007 | By Max Leisten | Category: Amazon Fulfillment, Amazon News

Amazon.com said on Monday that it would open a new fulfillment center in Indiana. That follows an announcement earlier this month that it would open a fulfillment center in Kentucky, bringing the total number of Amazon Fulfillment warehouses in the U.S. by my count to 15 (plus 7 in Europe and 4 in Asia).

The official Amazon Associates blog announced yesterday a cool new promotion that gives you a 20% referral fee for each MP3 purchase on Amazon.com. Better hurry though, this only runs through December 31st.
Through December 31, 2007 Associates are eligible to earn 20% on all MP3 referrals (up to $1.50 per item). Beginning January 1, 2008 [...]

A primer to Amazon.com’s product categories

Oct 15th, 2007 | By Max Leisten | Category: Amazon 101, Selling Strategies

Amazon is the global marketplace-of-choice for convenience buyers with 30+% annual growth and as such a very attractive channel for most online retailers looking to diversify and grow (and take advantage of risk-free selling).
With over 40 categories today, not every product may be sold by a third-party merchant, however. In the interest of providing the [...]

Oct 12th, 2007 | By Max Leisten | Category: Amazon News

Amazon announced today (AMZN) that its Q3′07 earnings conference call will be held on October 23rd at 5 p.m. EST. The forecast is for 35+% growth YOY and there’s a good deal of support for the current share price which validates the positive momentum Amazon has (way too expensive for me). But how big is [...]

Amazon today launched a Customer Knowledge Center on high-definition consumer electronics, Amazon High-Def 101. Oct 9th, 2007 | By Max Leisten | Category: Amazon News

Amazon.com pioneered tabs in the online retailing world but has been slowly moving to left-aligned category navigation, running out of space on top with now over 40 departments. Really, the few tabs remaining looked quite awkward.

Well, do not despair, the announced redesign is finally going live. Amazon is now acknowledging its illegitimate category navigation child [...]

Toys on Amazon = Goldmine

Oct 7th, 2007 | By Max Leisten | Category: Selling Strategies

If you’re an approved toy seller on Amazon (and you continue to carefully monitor the all-important feedback) you are likely going to have a gang-buster holiday business. There are a lot of signs that we’re going to see a significant toy shortage in Q4:

Updated return policy on Amazon.co.uk

Oct 5th, 2007 | By Max Leisten | Category: Amazon Announcements, Amazon International

Amazon UK is changing its return policy for most of its categories (Consumer Electronics will remain at 7 days) to bring it more in line with its US policy: you can now play with you purchase for 30 days before sending it back (like that XBox 360 and the Halo 3 game you were “evaluating”).

Boost your Amazon feedback rating

Oct 4th, 2007 | By Max Leisten | Category: Amazon Resources & Tools

Buyer feedback on Amazon is critical to driving incremental sales and making sure you remain a successful seller on this important site (negative feedback is the single biggest reason for seller termination on Amazon). This is particularly critical during the holiday season with Amazon clearing the forest to ensure the best possible consumer experience.
