Good-bye Amazon Alliance team. Hello Seller Performance.

Mar 28th, 2008 | By Max Leisten | Category: Amazon Announcements

Important announcement from Amazon for online retailers new to this marketplace or interested in sharing in some of that phenomenal growth. The Amazon Alliance team has changed its email address from alliance@amazon.com to seller-performance@amazon.com - which is a welcome change.

The term Alliance is somewhat ambiguous and as a result probably received its fair share of inquiries that should be handled by other groups within Amazon. The Seller Performance team focuses on assisting merchants that have run afoul of Amazon’s rules (let’s say your refunds significantly exceed the suggested threshold of 5% or there have been a lot of buyer complaints).

In our efforts to improve communication with our sellers, we are updating the email address for inquiries about seller performance.

As of March 25, 2008, the alliance@amazon.com email address will be deprecated. Sellers should write to us with inquiries about their performance at seller-performance@amazon.com.

When you write to us at seller-performance@amazon.com, you will receive an autoresponder to let you know our Seller Performance team has received your message.

Please note that the seller-performance email address is only for inquiries regarding your performance. Reports about violations of our Community Rules should still be sent to us via our Contact Us form.

The Seller Performance team is probably also still the right team to approach about getting accepted into a gated or closed category via a comprehensive Amazon business case.

  1. 7-7-2008 Dear Amazon,I have run into a problem with an ex-emplyee! I did not think I would have to change my password because ! did not for see any problems! It has now come to my attention that some books were listed that I never had and were bought by people who saw them in my inventory that should have never been their! That is why my refunds are greater at this time than have ever been in my life of using Amazon! I know now that I should have changed my password right away because this former employee knows that with to many refunds I can run into problems with customers but also with Amazon and also my ratings!I have been in touch with Amazon help line and they suggested this letter! I have since changed my password, fired this employee, and have hired a new person with whom I have the utmost respect and trust to fill this posistion! If you need anymore information please contact me right away! Thanking you in advance, Michael!

  4. Michael,

the best way to get your account reviewed and reinstated is to write a detailed statement on what why you were suspended and what actions you are taking to correct the situation and prevent it from happening again. Then send this statement to seller-performance@amazon.com.

Amazon’s Seller Performance team is tasked with ensuring that only qualified sellers will offer their products on the site, and they have the power to bring you back to the site if they’re convinced that it was truly just an error / accident on your side.

Very important here to show recognition and not blame buyers or Amazon. The customer is king and you need to show how you will be working to make customers happy (happier) if given another chance.
