Amazon WebStore adds support for gated Amazon categories

Amazon released a new version of its WebStore service (version 4.9.4) that now permits online retailers to launch an Amazon-hosted e-commerce store in six new, previously unavailable categories: Jewelry, Watches, Apparel, Gourmet, Personal Computers and Industrial & Scientific.

New Amazon Fulfillment warehouse in Hazelton, PA

Amazon announced this morning that it will open a 600,000 sqf warehouse in Hazleton, Pennsylvania with a projected 1,100 employees by 2011. I have promptly updated my Amazon Fulfillment Google Map with this new site.
My money on the next location is Raleigh, North Carolina. Overnight Super Saver Shipping!

Amazon ClickRiver discontinued?

I don’t think there has been any official word from Amazon on the demise of ClickRiver, but I spoke to the Amazon team at a large online retailer yesterday that stated “the ClickRiver program has been discontinued”. Several merchants report that Amazon has begun offering free conversions of eCommerce sites to its Amazon Webstore product for qualified online retailers. The email (below) states $400,000 in annual sales as criteria but nothing specific about traffic goals.
