Amazon UK advises on fraudulent emails
May 8th, 2008 | By Max Leisten | Category: Amazon Announcements, Amazon InternationalThe Amazon UK team issued a warning yesterday that online retailers selling on its platform in the UK may receive fraudulent A-Z claim notifications.
It has come to our attention that Amazon merchants are being targeted by a fake ‘a-to-z Guarantee Claim against an Amazon.co.uk order’ email.
We would like to draw your attention on the fact that those emails were not sent by Amazon.co.uk.
As the fake email is similar to the a-to-z guarantee notification that we send, please do not click on hyperlinks. If you want to check whether the notification is genuine or if you wish to act on the notification, please log onto Seller Central, and check the order details from there.
Here are instructions on how to find out whether a notification is genuine or not, and how to issue a refund or represent your case should the notification be a genuine one.
- Please type or copy and paste amazon.co.uk/claim in a new Internet browser window. Please do not click on the link in the email. Then please sign in.
- Find the order we are referring to in our notification
- If you can find the order, the notification is genuine: click “Refund the order” or “Represent your case” for action-required claims and follow the instructions.
- If you cannot find the order, the notification is fake, please delete the email without clicking on any link to replying to it.
